EZSyncFrom $1Table of contents
EZSync is a commercial utility that currently migrates your EZClaim patients to a Synapse EMR database. Currently it is only run once, and it will take the basic demographics only. It is hoped that with more familiarity with the EZClaims database it should be possible to allow updating of the patients from EZClaims to Synapse automatically. Install ODBCEZSync runs on the same PC as you run EZClaims. You must install on this PC the Firebird ODBC drivers and create a system DSN in the ODBC control panel to the Synapse EMR database on the server. You will probably have to reboot the PC after you install the ODBC drivers. In the ODBC control panel, use the following as an example of how to set this up.
From the Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Data Sources (ODBC) change to the System DSN tab, and click on "Add" to get something similar to the above. Select Firebird/Interbase and then click on "Finish". You should see something similar to below without the fields filled in. Enter the Data source name that you will be using for EZSync, the database address, account and password.
Here the remote server has an ip address of 192.168.1.100, and the database on that server is located at c:\emr\remr.fdb The password is "masterkey" without the quotes. Make sure that you click on "Test connection" to ensure that your connection works! Running EZSync
You need to navigate using the ".." button to where your EZData.mdb file is, and run the connection test. You may need to shut down EZClaims for this to work. Then enter your System DSN for Synapse, and also test. You should make a copy of your Synapse database first - ie. remr.fdb on the server. If both work, then click on "Start". It will then go thru the EZData database and import all the patients into Synapse. When finished, you can look at the logfile to see what errors occurred. PurchaseEZSync may be purchased for US$200 using Paypal
