Table of contents
No headers - On the Patients/Details/Personal & Contact Tab, click on Add New
- This brings up a small requester for First Names, Surname, SSN, and date of birth.
This is to check if the patient already exists in the database. Dates
are in the unambiguous format of dd-MMM-yyyy eg. 1-Jan-2007
- If you do not know the SSN/NHI number yet, or do not wish to use it, then you can use the "Random NHI" button to generate a crytographically secure random sequence, but then you will lose the benefit of checking for duplicate patients
- Click OK and if there are no duplicate records, you will be taken to the Title field. You can either use the drop down list, or just type the title in. Hit the <enter>
key. The gender field will be filled in for you if the title is
recognised. If not, you will have to set the gender by clicking with
your mouse appropriately.
- Enter an occupation, and hit <enter>.
A list of occupations will be brought up if there is a match. Select
the one you want, or close the list down, and use the <tab> key to accept it as it is.
- On the SSN/NHI field, use the <enter> key to move to the Address block.
- You need to fill in a minimum of the Street1, City, and State fields. You can then use the Save button to save this patient. All the other data is optional.
- A portal ID and code is automatically created at this stage as well. The portal is an optional feature.
- More instructions to follow regarding the meaning of the other fields.
Note that the minimum fields required to enter a patient have labels colored in brown.
